Dozers Don’t Doze Written by Melinda Rathjen Illustrated by Gareth Williams

This is a board book – that is, a picture book for young kids. The pictures are packed full of bright colors that will certainly engage a child’s imagination. Dozers are the main character of this story, and every time dozers are mentioned, they are capitalized. The word is also printed in a different color from the rest of the text. I thought this design choice was smart, fun, and helped make the illustrations more interesting. This book is fun to look at!

The story rhymes, and is full of different characters. There are trains, tractors, semis, and more things to ponder. In other words, lots of opportunities to explain to a child “what is that?” or to just make a child’s vocabulary stronger. The story and its concept made me smile: can a bulldozer not sleep? Read, and you can find out too!

This picture book is a lot of fun, and I can see lots of kids loving it!

Thank you, Worthy Kids, for this giveaway opportunity!
