The Power of a Half Hour by Tommy Barnett, Waterbrook Press, Book Review

How much can you get done in 30 minutes?

Tommy Barnett argues that an entire life can be changed in this short amount of time. The Power of a Half Hour is based on Barnett’s belief that time management isn’t a matter of making the most of large amounts of time but by making the most of 30 minutes.

Barnett’s thoughts are written well; the chapters are short enough for more than one chapter to be read in a half hour. Each chapter contains at least one story of how he or someone else experienced a powerful moment in just 30 minutes.

Although the book is heavily influenced by Barnett’s faith and work as a pastor, it contains very little, if any, Scripture verses. Barnett’s style of influencing people reminds me a lot of Joel Osteen. Barnett describes showing kindness in practical ways and guiding his children through honest talks instead of family devotions.

I received this book for free from Blogging for Books for this review.
